Cameron&Macy met us after work on the same property that Cameron helps manage. In between all the rain Chico was having, we managed to schedule their engagement session on a clear day just after the rain hit.

After a week filled with rain, the weather changed in our favor and we quickly set a date for Danny&Heather’s engagement session. Danny’s family owns the orchard we photographed them in so he showed us around the family business nearby. They will be getting married later this Fall and we get to work again with our friends from CES!

We love using engagement sessions as our excuse to spend more time with our couples and see how they interact while in front of the camera! Marshall&Kelsey met us at the entrance to Lower Park where we walked along the many amazing park trails and ended their session at one of their favorite Chico local dessert places, Shuberts!

Stephen and I absolutely love engagement sessions! It allows us to spend more time with our amazing couples, we get to see how they interact and ease their nerves about having photos taken. For most of our couples, this is their very first time having professional photos taken together. It’s expected to have nerves and we love getting the chance to walk them through our process, which in turn makes their wedding day experience feel so smooth!

The Tree Farm in Chico is a hidden gem that not everyone knows about! Especially in the Fall, it’s a must visit! Even if you’ve grown up in Chico, there’s a chance you would have never known to visit this place. This location is off the beaten path far away from Bidwell Park where most people explore. The Tree Farm is run and kept up by the Forest Service and has lots of walking paths and different types of trees all along the property.

The photo options in Bidwell Park are always endless. Each time we adventure around the park with our couples, especially for an engagement session, we always find new favorite locations! Fall always seems to hit Chico towards the end of October, early November which is exactly when we planned Ryan&Charlotte’s fall session.

Bishops Pumpkin patch has always been a special place for Lyndsie. She remembers fun trips there many times as a kid, working there as a high schooler, and now adding to the special memories, it’s the place her and Evan’s engagement photos were taken.

Stephen and I made a promise to each other and our couples after we got married. That promise was that we would get in front of the camera at least once a year and experience what our couples experience when having their pictures taken. We want to always remember each year of marriage. To take a break from the busyness of life and just be together! We always are learning something about ourselves, our own relationship and we always are learning new ways to love our couples as well!
