Lower Bidwell Park Engagement Photography - Kirk&Layne

If you've never visited Chico before, some of the first places locals will tell you to go will include exploring both Lower and Upper Bidwell Park. The park stretches through the heart of Chico and is pretty much any photographer's dream because it has endless photo locations. It's especially beautiful for engagement photography sessions! With all the weather and season changes the colors in the park are stunning. With Bidwell practically in our backyard, we take advance of this gorgeous location whenever possible!

Kirk&Layne met at work in 2007 and soon became good friends. If you happen to visit Costco before the crazy crowds hit in the morning, you might see these two starting to finish up their early morning shift. Every time I'm in Costco I think of these two and the place they first met! From their good friendship, they became running buddies and ran in the same park that we took their engagement photos at. We think it's pretty cool that these two started out as good friends and then their relationship blossomed into something more. Having a good foundation of friendship to build your relationship on is so important and just with the few hours we spent with these two, it is clear how much they are team players for their relationship.

Kirk&Layne will be getting married at one of our favorite wedding venues here in Chico, Centerville Estates. The property is also right up against Butte Creek and has a similar feel to the first location we chose in Lower Bidwell Park for their engagement photos. The only sad part about engagement sessions is that means we have to wait usually close to a year before we see our couples again. Hopefully, between now and their wedding date, we run into these two around town!
